YouTube TV has launched a Spanish language option for its app on Android, iOS, web, and most TV streaming devices. The announcement was made on Twitter by the official YouTube TV account, which also included a simple guide on how to enable it.

YouTube has long offered Spanish broadcasting to all users, with features like a dedicated Spanish plan that allows access to channels like TUDN, Univision, and more. However, the app was previously limited to English navigation options, so text across all apps was only displayed in the English language.

To change the language of the YouTube TV app to Spanish follow the below steps:

  1. Tap your profile icon.
  2. Then tap Language, and select Spanish.
  3. The upper portion of the app will change language immediately, with the Library, Home, and Live tabs. Categories and show title cards will follow suit shortly.

YouTube TV’s decision to delay adding a Spanish language option for its app is surprising, given that it already offers a Spanish plan.

With half of its viewers likely speaking Spanish, the company could have easily implemented a language option to make the app more accessible.

The new Spanish language option is now available to all users by a server-side update. You should see it in your current version of app.
